Akin Faminu serves contemporary ethnic style showing how to style an Adire tunic in two ways.
The men’s style enthusiast and blogger takes on ethnic style using the ever versatile ‘Adire’ tunic from Orange Culture. Adire is a type of indigo dyed fabric common amongst Yorubas. It’s created when certain areas on the fabric are tied up to resist dyes, creating beautiful pattern on them.

Orange Culture, Tiffany Amber and Maki Oh have infused the ‘Adire’ into their pieces over time and the trend is looking good as its making a comeback in different styles. Faminu explores how to style the look in two with an Orange Culture creation.
“Adire (tie and dye) textile is the indigo-dyed cloth made in southwestern Nigeria by the Yorubas, using a variety of resist-dyeing techniques to create beautiful patterns on their fabric. This editorial celebrates contemporary ethnic style and creamy goodness, in an Adire Tunic, by one of the biggest fashion brands in Nigeria today” Akin Faminu revealed about the adire used for editorial.

He did the look in 2 ways; dapper style and an athleisure look. He styled the dapper look with a navy blazer over the Adire tunic, burgundy loafers serving an edgy appeal with the asymmetrical hem detail the tunic features.
For the Afrocentric athleisure look he sports the tunic with Adidas superstar kicks (and a wide brimmed fedora maybe) for a sporty luxe appeal infusing his ever unique edge into the look. Both styling works depending on the occasion, no?
